Cookie policy
Cookies are small text files that a website stores in your browser; local storage is a similar mechanism that keeps a small amount of data on your device. This page lists what togetherlyvaltbx.beauty uses, what each item does and how to control it.
1. How we group cookies
We sort everything the site stores into three groups. Essential items are needed for the site to work and to remember the choice you make in the cookie banner; they are set regardless of your choice because the site cannot function without them. Analytics items measure how the site is used, in aggregate, so that we can see which guides are read and which are ignored. Functional items remember settings that improve your visit but are not strictly necessary. Analytics and functional items are set only if you accept them, either by choosing "Accept All" or by ticking them in the preferences panel.
2. What the site stores
| Group | Name | Set by | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Essential | tv_cookie_choice | This site (local storage) | Records whether you accepted, rejected or customised cookies so the banner does not reappear on every page. Stored on your device only. | Until you clear your browser storage |
| Essential | Server session and security items | Our hosting provider | Route requests, protect the site against abuse and keep it available. Contain no profile of you. | Session |
| Analytics | Analytics client identifier | Our analytics provider, loaded only after you accept | Distinguishes one browser from another so that page views can be counted without identifying you. Configured with IP anonymisation where the provider supports it. | Persistent, for the period set by the provider |
| Analytics | Analytics session identifier | Our analytics provider, loaded only after you accept | Groups the pages you view in one visit into a single session for reporting. | Short-lived |
| Functional | Display preferences | This site (local storage) | Remembers presentational settings such as an expanded panel or a dismissed notice, where these are offered. | Until you clear your browser storage |
We do not use advertising cookies, do not track you across other websites and do not allow third parties to set cookies for their own purposes. Links to external sites, such as heritage bodies or regulators, take you to sites with their own cookie practices over which we have no control.
3. Changing your choice
You can change your mind at any time. Clearing the site's data in your browser removes the stored choice and the banner will appear again on your next visit, where you can pick differently. If you switch from accepting analytics to rejecting them, the analytics tag will not load on subsequent pages; any identifier already set by the analytics provider can be removed by clearing cookies for this site in your browser.
4. Managing cookies in your browser
Every major browser lets you view, delete and block cookies and local storage, either for all sites or for individual ones, and most let you block third-party cookies while allowing first-party ones. The settings are usually found under privacy or site data. Blocking essential storage will not break the guides, but it will mean the cookie banner reappears on every page because the site has no way of remembering that you have already answered it. The browser makers publish their own instructions; the relevant pages for Chrome, Firefox, Safari and Edge are maintained by those companies.
5. Do Not Track and Global Privacy Control
Some browsers can send a signal asking sites not to track you. Because we only load analytics after an explicit choice in the banner, the signal does not change what happens on this site: nothing beyond the essential group is set until you accept it. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal and you are in a jurisdiction where that signal has legal effect, we treat it as a rejection of non-essential storage.
6. The law behind this page
In the United Kingdom, the use of cookies and similar technologies is governed by the Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations alongside the UK General Data Protection Regulation, and supervised by the Information Commissioner's Office. In the European Economic Area the ePrivacy Directive as implemented in each member state applies together with the EU General Data Protection Regulation. Both regimes require consent before non-essential cookies are set, which is why the banner appears before any analytics loads. Personal data processed through cookies is described in our privacy policy.
7. Questions
